17 Sep. A holly tree.

Meditation – very good. Very pleasant. I want to sit. I sit for a bit longer these days. But I could sit for much longer even. I just follow my breath. My meditation doesn’t last for 20 or 30 or 40 minutes. My meditation lasts for 20 or 30 or 40 seconds. Then a thought pops out, I apply mindfulness and meditation starts again. I could go on like this forever. Eventually, I have to get up of the cushion because my legs go numb or my family needs me. I understand that sitting is equally a means to attain something as it is the attainment itself. It’s really nothing special. I really like and appreciate where I’m right now with my practice. This cliche is true – under the surface of thoughts, there is peace. Always.

I listened to Lisa Cairns a bit. Just for fun. Out of curiosity. Is she enlightened? Why wouldn’t she be?

I took my family to Donadea Forest Park in County Kildare yesterday where I snapped a picture of a holly tree. When it blossoms, it blossoms. When it sheds its leaves, it sheds its leaves. So beautiful. So clear.
